WHAT CAN PHYSIOTHERAPY HELP WITH?
Physiotherapy can help with a wide variety of injuries and conditions, mostly relating to the problems with bones, muscles, joints and soft tissues. In our discovery sessions, your physiotherapist will also complete a golf specific movement screen and Swing Therapy, where they will identify any body imbalances or issues that may be affecting your swing and contributing to an injury or reduction in performance. Golf can be very demanding, requiring strength, endurance, explosive power, flexibility and athletic ability to produce a movement that produces some of the quickest club head and ball speeds in sport. Golfers commonly experience issues associated with the back, shoulder, knee and wrist. Your physiotherapist will help advise and educate you on your issue and work with you to develop a treatment plan to help get you out of pain, and more importantly, help address the cause of the problem.
WHAT DOES A PHYSIOTHERAPY SESSION INVOLVE?
During our physiotherapy sessions, we will complete a detailed assessment of your injury and you as a whole. This will identify the actual cause of your injury or issue and not just focus on the pain itself. In our discovery sessions, your physiotherapist will also complete a golf specific movement screen and Swing Therapy, where they will identify any body imbalances or issues that may be affecting your swing and contributing to an injury or reduction in performance. We will also look at components of your swing and associated movements required to achieve this. For treatment, we use a range of manual therapy/soft tissue techniques and will make sure you leave our sessions with a clear plan and programme to get you back to your best. Our initial assessments and follow up sessions will all include both assessment and treatment.
